National Palace Museum, Taipei, Taiwan

The National Palace Museum is an antique museum in Shilin, Taipei, and Republic of China. In the Island nation of the Republic of China, Taiwan, it is one of the national Museums. It has a permanent collection of more than 696,000 pieces of the ancient Chinese artifacts and artwork and makes it one of the largest in the world.




The collection of the artifacts’ and artworks enclose over 10,000 years of the Chinese history from the Neolithic age to late Qing Dynasty. Most of the collection of the museum is of high quality pieces collected by china’s ancient emperors.

The National Palace Museum and the Palace Museum in the Forbidden City in Beijing, People’s Republic of china (PRC) shares same roots.


        

The National Palace Museum was established with the items evacuated from Beijing Palace Museum and today it receives 4.3 million annual visitors.
